This Cookie Notice explains how Efort Systems SL (“Efort”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our public website efortcoach.com (the “Website”) and when you use our web application app.efortcoach.com (the “App”). It also tells you how to control these cookies.

1 – What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website.  They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences.  Cookies can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (stored until they expire or are deleted).  Cookies set by the website owner are called first‑party cookies; cookies set by other parties are third‑party cookies.  In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as pixel tags and tracking scripts to collect information about how visitors navigate our services.

2 – Why we use cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies only for the purposes described below.  Each category outlines both the purpose (why we use them) and the types of cookies involved.

• Strictly necessary cookies (Website and App) – These cookies are essential for core functionality and cannot be disabled via our settings. They are not used for analytics or advertising.
  • Cookie preference cookie (Website) – When you set your cookie preferences on efortcoach.com, we save a first‑party cookie to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics and measurement cookies. This ensures you don’t see the cookie banner on every visit. It typically lasts for about six months and does not contain any tracking or marketing identifiers.
  • Authentication cookies (App) – Issued by Google’s Firebase service when you sign in, these first‑party session cookies contain a signed token to verify your identity and keep you logged in across pages. They expire when you log out or after a short period (up to two weeks) and are not used for analytics or advertising.
• Analytics cookies (Website and App) – Analytics cookies are activated only after you give consent via our cookie banner.  They help us understand how visitors use our Website and App so we can improve stability, performance and user experience.  We do not use analytics cookies for behavioural advertising or profiling.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Website and App) – Clarity records pseudonymised information about how you navigate the site or App to help us understand usage patterns and improve our services.  It uses first‑party and Microsoft‑provided cookies that may persist for around a year (some up to one year and 24 days).  Some of these cookies are also used by Microsoft for advertising across its network.  We do not receive personally identifying information.
  • Firebase Analytics (App only) – Powered by Google Analytics, this service collects aggregated statistics about how the App performs and which features are most used.  It uses first‑party cookies that generally persist for up to two years.  We do not enable Google’s advertising features.
• Marketing measurement cookies (Website and App) – We use pixel tags and similar technologies from our advertising partners to measure the success of our marketing campaigns, such as whether a visitor signs up after following a partner link.  These tags may set third‑party cookies that assign a pseudonymous ID across partner domains to measure conversions.  They do not capture names or emails, but they may link your activity between a partner site and ours for campaign attribution.  These measurement tags are activated only if you have opted in to analytics.  We use this data solely for conversion measurement and do not serve targeted ads.  Third‑party cookies set by our analytics partners (for example, Microsoft or Google) may also be used by those providers for advertising across their networks.  We recommend reviewing the partner’s cookie notice for details on how they handle this data.  We do not intentionally use cookies to serve third‑party targeted advertising on or outside our sites; our analytics and measurement tools are used solely to improve performance, reliability and user experience.

3 – How you can control cookies

Consent on the Website

When you first visit efortcoach.com, a banner appears asking whether you accept analytics and measurement cookies.  You can choose “Accept all” or “Reject all.”  If you accept, we activate our analytics tools and any measurement pixels.  If you reject, we will not load these scripts and no analytics or measurement cookies will be stored.

We set one first‑party, strictly necessary cookie to remember your choice.  This cookie expires after about six months and ensures that you do not have to make the same choice on every visit.  You can change your decision at any time by clicking “Cookie preferences” in the footer of the website.  Selecting “Reject all” will stop future analytics and measurement cookies.

Consent in the App

On app.efortcoach.com you need to sign in.  When you log in for the first time, we present a separate cookie banner.  This banner gives you the option to accept or reject analytics and measurement cookies.  Our App will not load Microsoft Clarity, Firebase Analytics or any marketing measurement pixels until you opt‑in. If you decline, only the essential authentication cookies (session) will be set and analytics and measurement will remain disabled.  We do not store your choice beyond the current session; refreshing the page during onboarding will prompt the banner again.  Once you finish onboarding and reload the App, analytics and measurement will not run.

4 – Updates to this notice

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Please therefore re‑visit this Cookie Notice regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.  The date at the top of this Cookie Notice indicates when it was last updated.
